Barcelona, Spain - Getting Around Barcelona by Metro

Barcelona Metro can take you to many of the destinations in the city. The metro system comprises of 11 lines, 163 stations and travels a total distance of 124 km (77 miles). The train network runs underground in central Barcelona and eventually above ground as it heads into the suburbs. The trains are frequent, operating from 5:00 a.m. to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and round the clock on Saturday. Announcements on the trains and stations are in Catalan and Spanish, while the ticketing machines also include English.
