Porto's major tourist districts of Ribeira and Baixa are a maze of narrow winding lanes and many cobbled for a bumpy ride. Furthermore, these two districts are hilly and finding a parking space can make tempers flare. You are better of walking or take the public transport. Only consider renting a car if you are staying outside the central area and plan to travel outside the city. There are several car rental companies located at the airport and in the city including Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and National.
