Lisbon, Portugal - Lisbon the Capital of Portugal

Lisbon is the capital and largest city in Portugal, home to more than half a million people. Situated along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Lisbon is the westernmost capital in continental Europe. It is the oldest city in Western Europe, older than London, Paris and Rome by several hundred years. Visitors will find Lisbon to be a charming city with its whitewashed buildings, intimate alleys and an easy going atmosphere. It is a year round destination, enjoying a Mediterranean climate featuring mild winters and very warm summers.
