Taxis in Barcelona are coloured black and yellow, and can carry up to four passengers. You can get a taxi from the taxi ranks or wave for one along the streets - the illuminated green sign on top of the taxi means it's available for hire. You can call a dispatch centre for a taxi, though most operators handling the calls are only conversant in Catalan and Spanish. A 10-15 minute ride on a taxi in Barcelona should generally cost you €8-12 and though tips are always welcomed (5-10% of the fare), they are not required.
