Madrid, Spain - Getting Around Madrid by Taxi

Taxis in Madrid are white in colour with a red stripe and flag of Madrid on the front doors. Tariffs are clearly displayed on the taxi for hiring during the day, night and holidays, and there are also surcharges for travelling to and from the airport and train stations. There are few taxi stands in the city, and the most common way is to wave for a passing taxi along the street. Many drivers don't speak English and if you don't speak Spanish, have the name and address of your destination written to show the driver.
