Faro International Airport is located about 4 km (3 miles) from Faro's city centre. It is the third busiest airport in Portugal after the airports at Lisbon and Porto. The airport not only serves Faro but is the main gateway for air travel to Portugal's Algarve region. Faro Airport gets very busy from March to October, receiving regular as well as many seasonal flights from across Europe, especially cities in the UK. Airlines landing here include Ryanair, EasyJet, Thomas Cook, Jet2.com and Monarch Airlines.
