Alburfiera's Old Town is a compact area and much of it is pedestrianised. The epicentre is the main square and as you walk away along the narrow winding streets there are the restaurants, cafes, shops and night spots. About 3 km (2 miles) away is a modern area of Albufiera known as the Strip, a 800-metre (half mile) stretch including roads branching from both sides of Avenida Dr. Francisco Sa Carneiro. The Strip is a bustling area occupied by a variety of holiday accommodation, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
