Taxis in Albufeira are either painted beige or black with green top. Taxis here do not use the meter and you have to negotiate with the driver before hiring. As a rough guide, the taxi rate is €3-4 for the first 3 km (2 miles) then €1 for every kilometre (0.6 miles). You can find taxi stands located across Albufeira including two in the Old Town, at the Strip, near the Modelo Shopping Centre, Albufeira's bus terminal and railway station. Queues can get very long during the summer months i.e. from June to September.
