Lisbon, Portugal - Getting Around Lisbon by Metro

The Lisbon Metro (Metropolitano de Lisboa) comprises of four metro lines totalling 43 km (27 miles) and 55 stations. The trains operate daily from 6:30 a.m. to around 1:00 a.m. - some stations may close slightly before and some sightly after 1:00 a.m. The  metro fare is €1.40 for a single trip (regardless of the distance), or you can purchase a day pass for €6 for unlimited travel on the metro and buses. While metro announcements are in Portuguese, signs and ticketing machines are usually in both Portuguese and English.
