The island of Mallorca lies in the Mediterranean Sea and therefore experiences a typical Mediterranean climate. Thus, summers in Palma are hot and dry while winters are pleasantly mild but can expect nights to be chilly. July and August are the hottest months of year in Palma with midday temperatures around 29ºC (84ºF) and can occasionally go beyond 35ºC (95ºF). The coldest months are January and February though midday temperatures are mild around 15ºC (59ºF) but temperatures at night can drop to 8ºC (49ºF).
