Trasmediterranea operates a weekly ferry service between Cadiz in southwestern Spain and the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the island of Tenerife. It is the only ferry service between mainland Spain and the Canary Islands, and the trip takes two days (45 hours) each way. The Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife also serves as a terminal for ferries arriving from other islands in the Canaries. Another is the Port of Los Cristianos connecting Tenerife with other islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma.
