Taxis are in plentiful in Gran Canaria especially at the airport, in Las Palmas (the island's capital) and at the tourist resorts. You can recognise the island's taxis by their white colour and red stripe on the front door. Travelling in a group and for a few Euros more per passenger, taking the taxi is probably a good idea to get to your destination faster. The fare for travelling within the cities or resorts usually cost €3-5 but for longer distances (e.g. between cities or around the island) taking a taxi is an expensive option.
