Tenerife, Spain - The Island of Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest and most populous island of the seven Canary Islands, home to around 900,000 people living in an area measuring 2,034 sq. km (785 sq. miles). The island is situated about 200 km (124 miles) from the northwestern coast of Africa and 1,400 km (870 miles) from the southern coast of Spain. Tenerife is a popular holiday destination (especially with British and German holidaymakers) offering visitors beautiful beaches, picturesque coastlines, lush forest and scenic mountains.
