Madrid-Barajas Airport serves the city of Madrid and located about 13 km (8 miles) from the city center. It is the busiest airport in Spain and one of the busiest in Europe, handling around 50 million passengers each year. The airport is the main gateway into the Iberian Peninsula and has direct air links with many cities in Europe, North America and Latin America. Ground transport from Madrid-Barajas Airport to Madrid include metro trains (with stations at Terminals 2 and 4), express buses and taxi services.
