The public transport network in Albufeira are the GIRO buses, currently operating five routes. All the buses start and finish at the Albufeira Bus Terminal located about 1.5 km (1 mile) from the Old Town. The buses operate from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in October-May and from 7:00 a.m. to midnight in June-September. The fare is €1.40 for a single journey but you can purchase an unlimited travel day ticket for €4. Purchase the ticket from the ticketing office when boarding at the terminal but pay when boarding elsewhere.
