Metropolitano de Tenerife (MTSA) operates a light rail tram system connecting Santa Cruz with San Cristobal and the suburb of Taco. The tram network in Tenerife comprises of two lines:
- Line 1 runs 13 km (8 miles) and includes 19 stations between the Intercambiador (Transport Exchange) in Santa Cruz and La Trinidad Station in San Cristobal.
- Line 2 runs 2.5 km (1.5 miles) and includes four stations between La Cuesta Station and Tincer Station in Santa Cruz.
A single ticket cost €1.35 but a prepaid Bono card (€15 and €30 cards available), offers discounted travel and valid until the credit is exhausted. You can also use the Bono card for the public transport buses.
